Nike sizing, explained

Nike fit depends on the silhouette, category and width. Use current official model guidance rather than a blanket lifestyle size-down rule.

Dunk is not a universal size-down example

Nike’s Dunk sizing guide says the model generally fits true to size, with adjustments for width and preference. Do not group every Dunk, Air Max and Jordan under one half-size reduction.

Use the appropriate footwear chart

Nike publishes men’s, women’s and unisex charts. A men’s-based unisex product pairs men’s US 8 with women’s US 9.5, but separate constructions still need a fit check.

CM label and foot measurement differ

Nike’s chart explicitly warns that the CM label on boxes is different from Foot Length. Use measured heel-to-toe guidance and read across to the needed label.

Widths are product-specific

Nike’s chart describes Wide and Extra Wide in terms of additional toe-box girth. Width availability depends on the model and market; do not assume every lifestyle or running style has the same options.

Frequently asked questions

Does this guidance guarantee fit?
