Brand size guides

How each major brand fits — what runs large, what runs narrow, and how to pick the right size.

Brand

Nike

Nike runs true to size for most styles. Air Force 1 and Air Max fit slightly large — consider going down half a size. Jordan 1 fits roughly half a size large.

Brand

Adidas

Adidas runs slightly narrow and about a half size small for Ultraboost and Stan Smith. Consider sizing up half a size, especially with thicker socks.

Brand

New Balance

New Balance generally fits true to size with wider toe boxes (especially the 990 and 2002R lines). Available in multiple widths (B, D, 2E, 4E).

Brand

Puma

Puma fits true to size for most lifestyle silhouettes; performance running shoes can feel slightly narrow.

Brand

ASICS

ASICS runs true to size with a snug midfoot. The GEL-Kayano and GT-2000 lines are available in wide (2E) and extra wide (4E).

Brand

H&M

H&M tends to run small, especially for women's tops and dresses. Consider sizing up one full size.

Brand

Zara

Zara uses European sizing and runs small — particularly for trousers and outerwear. Most shoppers size up.

Brand

Uniqlo

Uniqlo uses Japanese sizing which trends slim. US shoppers typically size up one full size for a relaxed fit.

Brand

Levi's

Levi's uses true waist measurements in inches. 501s shrink to fit (size up 1" in waist for unwashed denim).
