A sourced example, not a national formula

Gucci’s dresses and tops chart maps IT 40 to EU 36, US 4 and UK 8. Italian labels are not universally two above EU, and Italian and French labels should not automatically be treated as identical.

Men’s categories are different

Suit, trouser and shirt labels use different measurement conventions. A suit’s drop describes proportions according to the manufacturer’s system; it is not simply a universal subtraction of full chest and waist centimeters.

Shoe labels and shoe shape are separate

Many Italian footwear products use EU-style labels, but there is no universal luxury-shoe half-size increase. Check the brand and model, including available widths and measured-foot advice.

Choose by product measurements

Compare body and finished-garment measurements in the regional listing. Country origin is not evidence that every garment has a slimmer shoulder or narrower waist.
