US vs EU Shoe Sizes Explained

A full US or UK size uses approximately one-third of an inch; the European Paris point is two-thirds of a centimeter. The scales have different origins and manufacturers publish their own label mappings. Modern EU-labeled footwear can include fractional sizes.

Nike and adidas need not assign the same EU or UK label to a US size. Do not merge rows from multiple manufacturers and call the result a standard chart. The general SizeAtlas converter is an approximate reference, not an official brand table.

CM is not always foot length

Nike explicitly distinguishes box-label CM from measured foot length. Measure heel-to-toe and use the actual foot-length column, rather than treating a CM/JP label as your foot measurement.

Conversion is only part of fitting

Length labels do not define width, toe-box shape or upper volume. Check the exact model with the intended socks. If length is right but the shoe pinches, consider a width or model change rather than always sizing up.
